Scripture: “Here comes that dreamer!” - Genesis 37:19

Thought: Yesterday we celebrated one of the most influential dreamers in American history. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. showed us all how inspiring and impactful living our God sized dream can be.

We’ve all been blessed with divine desires. God gives us big visions! Game changing dreams that even the most ambitious among us would be hesitant to share. We’re hesitant because we know the thing we’re called to do will require us to do something we’ve never done. To think different, to live different, to grow! Even to go!

God’s promises must be pursued. We’re all being called. How we respond will be unique to our nature and natural gifts, but the requirement will be the same for us all. We must accept the call, let go of our former ways of living, and faithfully move in the direction of our dream. The entire dream that is. The good, the bad, the ugly that is inherent to all worthwhile endeavors. We must pursue it all.

You’re going to meet resistance. At some point in your journey you will be referred to as, “That Dreamer!” You’ll be urged to reconsider, scale back, fall in line, play it safe, or stop the pursuit altogether. Well-intended people will unintentionally discourage you while others will deliberately attempt to stall your progress.
