3/9/21 S-T-C Tuesday: What's Your Endgame?

Scripture

“Let us not grow weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up”

- Galatians 6:9

Thought

What is your endgame?

Leading, coaching, teaching, training, parenting. What is it all leading to?

As transformational leaders, we all recognize our desperate need to be filled and sustained in order to lead, coach, teach, train, and parent well. We know that it is nearly impossible to make good on our desire to lead if we are relying entirely on our own strength day after day, year after year.

A sense of weariness will arise if we are not vigilant to the inner needs of our soul. Leading with the tank empty can cause us to become worn out and burnt out.

As we lean in and go deeper in our own transformational journey we must remember, our endgame is not the list of goals we have for our leading, coaching, teaching, training and parenting.

Ultimately, our endgame is a deep relationship with God on the inside of our lives - for the rest of our lives.

The endgame of our soul life is to be with Christ. The top priority of our soul is to dwell with God in the Secret Place. We know our soul life in Christ can and will have a positive effect on our leading, coaching, teaching, and parenting but we don’t run to God to have these endeavors supported. They are not the endgame.

We run to God because his presence is oxygen to our inner life. And if our inner life is supported, everything else has a chance to flourish. If all our leadership endeavors flourish as a result - great. If not - great. We have what our soul truly needs either way.
