A Vibrant Life

“Present yourselves as building stones for the construction of a sanctuary vibrant with life…” (1 Peter 2:5)
Leadership is a team sport!
We have to zoom out several frames to fully appreciate this statement.
In general, society’s approach to leadership has become too myopic. We have to appreciate that there is a fine line between self-efficacy and self-absorption.
The modern way of leadership development is conducive to Drift and too often results in exacerbated feelings of loneliness.
This is a design problem. We’re neglecting a critical element in our design planning.
The communal element! None of us are as good as all of us.
This should be liberating news! You weren’t designed to do this all by yourself, so you shouldn’t try to design a life that is purely focused on yourself. (ie. your needs, wants, and desires.)
You should take a step back to consider the bigger picture.
Whatever you’re building for yourself will take on an entirely new, more meaningful, and much larger meaning when you take into consideration the community as a whole.
In practice, this is called community design, and it’s essential to our transformational journey.
At the end of the day our purpose is to intentionally design a way of living that when combined with others moves us all closer to a higher purpose.
Taking this approach to lifestyle design is how we truly live a vibrant life!
