Why Share?
August 29, 2023
“We’re not keeping this to ourselves, we’re passing it along to the next generation” (Psalm 78:4)
Let’s take a moment to reflect on the routines we’ve developed around our socials.
Regardless of whether you prefer; Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tok, or Twitter I bet your routine goes something like this.
Scroll through your feed ignoring most posts, quickly acknowledging a few posts with some likes, but then you come across the post that stops your scrolling momentum, you take notice and decide that this particular post deserves more than a like, it resonates with you so much you feel compelled to share it with someone.
Why do we do this? Why Share?
A lot of the popular psychology research on the subject points back to “status” or self-interest as a primary motivator.
This just serves as another sad reality of modern society.
We are constantly manipulating God-serving things into self-serving things.
We were designed to share good news. We’re all wired with an affinity for storytelling.
This is how he could ensure the gospel traveled, but it doesn’t stop there.
What about all the other faith affirming lessons we’ve been blessed with along our transformational
journey?
Those truths weren’t meant for just you!
We’re blessed to be a blessing to the next generation.
Where one transformational journey ends another begins.
