5/25/21 S-T-C Tuesday: The Unknown Space

Scripture

“But the Lord was with Joseph and showed him steadfast love and gave him favor in the sight of the keeper of the prison.” - Genesis 39:22

Thought

If we want to swim in the deep waters of faith we must reach a point where we become fully dependent on God. It’s very rare to find a true champion of the faith who throughout their life only proclaimed the power of their own skills. A true transformational leader lets their life point to Christ. They speak of the mystery of God’s leading. They talk of stories of shipwrecks, jail sentences, financial ruin - all ending with God’s provision, not their own wits and strength.

They proclaim of his faithfulness during the time in the unknown space. The time when they couldn’t tell what was up or down, left or right. The time when they were tossed and turned about.

A transformational leader recognizes the value in seasons in the unknown space. They know the power of the circumstances in the unknown space that will gently force them to trust God more. To depend on him more and to depend on themselves less.

It’s in the unknown space that our message shifts from our talents to his faithfulness.

What a privilege it is to be pulled into a life dependent on God. How much God must believe in you if he creates circumstances where you will be forced to trust him more, depend on him more, and live more in intimacy with him instead of settling for your own plans, dreams, visions and talents.

We’re all designed for more. We are often quietly aching in the middle of the safe confines we have created. Thankfully God can pull us into more. He can pull us into the unknown space.
