Thought

In the leadership journey of today, there is a pressure to build a platform or following. Whether it be through social media or elsewhere, if we just put on a show for other people we won’t receive the true reward. The reward for a transformational leader is inward focused before outward focused. The inward rewards we want are peace, confidence, perspective, and wisdom. The more public, the less rest in these areas for the inward life of a leader.

These rewards come from the secret place. The place of privacy with Christ. The place where you can drop your guard and embrace the king who loves you, speaks life into you, and transforms you.

The true reward in the secret place is Christ. The prize is the presence of Christ in our lives. His peace. His perspective. The reason why “you won’t receive your reward” is because this reward was never meant for public or to be “seen” or to build a platform or a following.

Our world rushes to the spotlight when the true reward of leadership comes in the private secret place of dependency on God.

The secret place brings life.

Your reward is Christ.
