The modern way of leadership development is conducive to Drift and too often results in exacerbated feelings of loneliness.

When fear is ruling our lives, we cower from our calling.

In our cowardice we live indecisive about how we’re going to show up.

Dreaming is how we see into the future. It reinforces who we could be and should be, but it informs today.

Drift preys on the poorly defined. Get vague about what you call success and you’ll unconsciously start pursuing what everyone else is pursuing.

Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone is a five-time world and Olympic champion. So why the losing record in 2023 thus far? Is she missing a step? Is she in a funk? Is it her coaching? Nutrition? Lack of sleep? 

The reality is she is taking losses in 2023 on purpose. 

Many days I find myself pondering questions like; 

“What is going on here?” 

“What is this all about?”

“Why am I here?”

I would argue that the fear of failure is the number one reason most people will come nowhere close to reaching their full potential. It will not be from a lack of effort, unclear objectives, missed deadlines, or poorly executed plans. Nope, we will simply not bother to try.
